$5 Tiered Tray

So it’s been a while since I’ve done a DIY project to share with you all, I posted this about a month or so ago. AND I come bearing gifts via a tiered tray.

I had been wanting and searching for one of those tiered trays that you see everywhere. They range in prices and can go up to $150 at certain retailers. Well I don’t have that kind of money to spend on such a small piece of decor. So I’m sharing with you all how I made this for less than $10.

Things you will need:

  • Dollar Tree Cake Pan

  • Dollar Tree Pie Pan

  • Optional Glass Plate Candle Holder

  • Glass Candle Holder (you need at least 1) or staircase spindles (I think that’s what they are called)

  • Spray Paint

  • E6000 Glue

This was an easy DIY that took maybe a day to do, and that’s only because you need to let the spray paint dry.

Step 1:

Spray paint your pans, glass plate, and candle holders. Make sure that it has an even layer and give it plenty of time to seal. You may have to do multiple layers depending on the color you decide.

Step 2:

So I want you to know that E6000 is not your regular glue. Once it adheres there is no turning back. I glued two glass candle holders together, so that the part the candle goes in is glued together. I suggest taking a pencil and lightly trace where your candle holders will be. After everything is dry take your candle holder and apply glue to both ends. Line up where your trace is on both ends and apply light pressure for a few seconds to make sure it’s locked in and the air won’t come through.

Step 3:

Decorate! Your pieces have finished drying and the glue has dried and set; you are finished. There are so many things that you can do with this, and I’ve switch it out for the seasons and holidays. Here are a few pics of what I have done since I made this back in November. Hey don’t judge me!

Tips for the Tiered Tray:

  1. If you want to be able to put any item under the tiers, I would suggest doing the spindles because they come in different heights.

  2. Decide on a color that is neutral, your decor can be a colorful as possible if you want color more.

  3. Greenery and stuffing are amazing for these if you don’t want to put a lot of items in. It fills it up and my mother always says greenery is needed in every rooms. Doesn’t have to be real.

I hope you all have fun with this and make one of your own. If you do, post it to Facebook or Instagram and #rheaalignedDIY. I would love to see them.
