Peep This! Cocktail

Spring is here, which means it's time to switch up our drink choices. I know my last cocktail was for Christmas. We still don't have a name for the house. But I think it'll come to me once we get outside and do some work around the yard. So Easter is this week! WOW! It's been a year since we all got "stuck". And like most, we are still keeping to ourselves until we have been fully vaccinated.

Since it's spring, I thought I give ya'll a twist on a few simple martinis. These were made with Rock Town Distillery. Rock Town is an Arkansas based company. They have a great selection of vodkas, bourbon and other whiskeys, gins, moonshines, bottled cocktails, and even cream and coffee liqueurs. They of course give tours, but we will be signing up for one of their cocktail classes for a future date night!

Lemon Peep Martini

  • Yellow Peeps

  • Lemon Flavored Vodka

Garnishments

  • Peeps

  • Sprinkles

Ya'll already know, I don't do measurements. So I took a pack of the peeps, and placed them in the mason jar, and add vodka of your choice. I then let them sit for about 3 days, shaking it at least once a day. Shaking it isn't mandatory, but I will say put this jar in a place where it can get some sun. The heat from the sun and the vodka will breakdown the sugarcoating and the marshmallow from the peeps.

To serve, I added ice to a shaker, poured the mixture from the mason jar with a strainer to keep any leftover marshmallow from entering the shaker. This is of course better shaken not stirred, then pour into a glass. I garnished with a peep on the rim of the martini glass. If you wanted you could add sprinkles to the rim as well.

Bad Bunny Martini

  • Vodka

  • Splash of Simple Syrup

  • Tropicana Strawberry Peach

Another simple drink that will add to your Easter dinner or after is the Bad Bunny Martini. I did the same thing with the peeps as the previous drink and let them sit for 3 days. The difference with this drink is adding a splash of simple syrup when you pour the contents into the shaker. After you shake it, and pour into the martini glass and add as much Tropicana Strawberry Peach to your liking. The more juice you add, it will change the color of the drink.

If ya'll don't have a photographer that will keep the foolishness up with you, you are losing. I'm sure those that know us both understand, but Nancy and I will ALWAYS have a great time. It may be because I'm always serving some kind of drink, but we are going to do more talking than taking pictures.
